The leading cause trusted Source of death among adults is heart disease. Several health conditions, your lifestyle, and your age and family history can increase your risk for coronary heart disease. When plaque develops in the arteries and blood vessels that lead to the heart, Heart disease occurs. Important nutrients and oxygen are blocked from reaching your heart. Age and heredity are the two major risk factors likely to develop heart disease. Around the age of 55 in women and 45 in men increases the risk of heart disease. There are several risk factors for heart disease in which some are manageable and others are not. Heart disease causes and Risk Factors are listed below.

Heart disease-Risk factor

The risk factors for heart disease are Obesity, diabetes, blood pressure, family history of heart disease, being physically inactive, smoking, eating an unhealthy diet, and clinical depression.

1. Quit Smoking

The most preventable risk factor is smoking. Chain-smokers have more than twice the risk for heart attack than light smokers. Nonsmokers also have an increased risk while exposing constant smoke.

2. Control high blood pressure

The most common heart disease risk factor is high blood pressure. The definition of hypertension is blood pressure (the upper number) over 130, and/or diastolic blood pressure (the lower number) over 80. Blood pressure interpretation and treatment should be individualized like cholesterol. Blood pressure can be controlled through diet, exercise, weight management, watching your salt, and medications.

3. Achieve and maintain a healthy weight

The risk factors such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and triglycerides are obtained due to excess weight. The major risk factor for heart disease is fatness. You can lose weight and reduce your risk of heart disease by eating a portion of balanced diet food and exercising.

4. Manage Stress

Heart attacks and strokes are mainly due to poorly controlled stress and anger. You can learn to manage stress by practicing relaxation techniques, learning how to manage your time, setting realistic goals, and trying some new techniques such as guided imagery, meditation.

Causes of heart disease

Coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, and previous heart attack are the most common conditions that can lead to heart failure. The causes of heart attack vary by type of heart disease.

1.  Severe lung disease

The heart has to work harder to get available oxygen to the rest of the body when the lungs don’t work properly.

2. Heart defects present at birth

To compensate the healthy parts have to work harder if the heart and its chambers don’t form correctly.

3. Coronary artery disease

Less blood can reach the heart muscle when cholesterol and fatty deposits build up in the heart’s arteries.

Final thought

One of the most effective ways you can prevent heart disease is by living a healthy lifestyle.

The multiple risk factors for heart disease are diabetes. Meditation is required to reach cholesterol levels. The total amount of cholesterol increases as your risk for heart disease increases. Through all this, we hope to reduce heart disease in current and future generations.
