Sexually transmitted diseases or STDs are infections that are transferred from one person to another through intimate contact. The causes of these sexually transmitted diseases are mainly bacteria, viruses, and parasites. Equally, it can affect anyone but the signs and symptoms can be different for both men and women. Herpes

It is transmitted via direct contact with the mouth or genitals of a person who has been infected with the virus. It can spread through kissing, vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Overall, any form of sexual contact with or without protection could result in herpes.   • Fever

  • Sore or aching muscles in the buttocks lower back, thighs, or knees

Trichomoniasis 

Trichomoniasis is a prevalent sexually transmitted infection affected by the parasite Trichomonas vaginalis (TV). Common symptoms of infection which men experience include:

  • Pain during urination or ejaculation
  • Soreness, swelling, and redness around the head of the penis or foreskin
  • Discharge from the penis
  • Frequent urge to urinate

Syphilis 

This is another common bacterial infection, caused by Treponema pallidum. This is a silent STD since the person infected with can stay years before severe symptoms manifest. Its common symptoms include rashes, arthritis, swollen lymph nodes.
