Fever may occur 

Fever is one of the first symptoms of HIV in men and is often accompanied by other mild symptoms such as swollen lymph glands, fatigue, sore throat, etc.

Occurrence of fatigue 

After being infected with HIV, your body tries to fight off the virus. Thus, you may get week, fatigued, or out of the breath.

Swollen lymph nodes 

Lymph nodes are part of your body’s immune system which protects your blood by getting rid of viruses and bacteria. And they tend to get inflamed when an infection occurs. Equally, many of the lymph nodes are located in your groin, armpit, and neck which might result in aches and pains in this area.

Occurrence of rashes 

Some skin rashes can occur early or late in the course of HIV infection. In some severe cases, these rashes can appear similar to boils with pink, itchy breakouts. If you find some scary rashes or itchiness you should contact the doctor as soon as possible.

Feeling of uneasiness 

Some people intuitively know that something is wrong and they may experience a feeling of anxiety or uneasiness.

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea 

If you are recently affected by HIV, you may experience some digestive problems initially. Equally, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea can appear in the later stages of infection. Thus, it’s important to stay hydrated.

You experience weight loss 

Due to the lack of appetite and vomiting, weight loss is likely to occur when infected.

Dry cough and sore throat

A hard dry cough that lasts from weeks to months without seeming to resolve – even when treated with medicine is another great symptom in HIV patients who is very ill.

Nasal infection 

Feeling congested or stuffed up can be another major sign of recent infection.

Myalgia 

The muscles in the body will feel achy or painful, similar to the pains associated with having flu.

Night sweats 

Many people will experience night sweats during the initial stages of HIV. This may become more common in the later stages of infection and aren’t related to any routine exercise or temperature of the room.
